Collection: OPNBar Version 2 – 3-in-1 Trucker Tools: Container Bar, Tire Thumper & 5th Wheel Release

The original 3-in-1 trucker tool. Every OPNBar Version 2 tool does three jobs in one 3 lb, 24-inch steel bar: it opens stuck shipping container and trailer doors, releases the 5th wheel from a standing position, and thumps tires on your pre-trip inspection. The V2's angle bend clears protruding side metal and rear-set lockrods, so it fits more containers. Made in the USA by SCS International since 2005.

What Customers Are Saying

One Bar, Three Jobs

  • Container and trailer door opener: slides over the door latch handle and gives you the leverage to open and close stiff, rusted or iced-over doors.
  • 5th wheel release hook: hook the release handle and pull from beside the tractor instead of reaching under the trailer.
  • Tire thumper: a properly inflated tire gives a sharp thud and a low tire gives a dull one, so you know which tire needs a gauge.

Drivers also use it to break container seals and compress cam pins.

Why the Angle Bend Matters

On many containers, hinges, door hardware and side framing stick out past the lockrods. A straight bar hits that metal before you can turn the handle all the way. The V2 angle bend moves the bar out and away from it, so you keep full leverage on more container doors.

FAQ

What is a 3-in-1 trucker tool?
One bar that replaces three: a container and trailer door leverage bar, a 5th wheel release hook and a tire thumper. It's small enough to ride behind the seat.

How do I open a stuck container door with it?
Slide the bar over the latch handle, lift the handle out of its keeper and pull with your legs, not your back. Our guide to opening a stuck shipping container door has the full steps.

Can government buyers order through GSA?
Yes, through GSA contract 47QSEA23D004N.
