Collection: OPNBar Version 5 – Leverage Bar for Closely Spaced Lockrods

A leverage bar for containers with closely spaced lockrods. When lockrods and handles sit too close together for a standard bar, the OPNBar Version 5 fits. Its dual leverage-hole design gives you two engagement positions, and it has a wide, deep mouth for rubber-sleeved handles plus a built-in 5th wheel release hook. Made in the USA.

The Close-Lockrod Problem

On some shipping containers, the lockrods and door handles are spaced so tightly that a regular leverage bar may not fit between them, or may not turn far enough once it's on. Operators end up yanking the handle by hand, which is how backs, shoulders and fingers get hurt. The V5 was designed for exactly these doors.

How the V5 Fits Where Others Don't

  • Two leverage holes: pick the engagement position that fits between the lockrods.
  • Wide, deep mouth: grips standard and rubber-sleeved handles.
  • More pronounced bend: compatibility across container door styles.
  • Improved center grip: control while you apply leverage, designed to keep hands farther from potential pinch points.
  • Built-in 5th wheel release hook: unhook the trailer from a standing position.
  • Extension-ready: designed to work with upcoming OPNBar extensions.

Do You Need the V5?

If your current bar can't fit between the lockrods or handles on your container doors, yes. On standard doors, the Version 3 Deep Mouth or Version 4 is usually enough. If you run a mix of containers, the Sampler Pack includes the V5 along with V2, V3 and V4, so you can test each on your own doors.
